Froyo Update for My-touch Fender


The official word is out that beginning Jan 12 T-mobile will start sending updates to the Fender version of MyTouch. to make sure if you have the Fender version then look for a 3.5 mm jack. It will be sent out in waves, so it means that you should be getting a notification about it by Feb 1. Below is the full press release:

Beginning January 12, 2011, the highly anticipated Android 2.2 Froyo operating system will be made available to T-Mobile customers using the myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack and myTouch Fender LE via over-the-air update (OTA).
myTouch devices should be fully charged before beginning the download. The Android 2.2 Froyo update will provide a number of benefits, including a new or enhanced home screen experience, new or improved Exchange e-mail integration, and the addition of Faves Gallery.

Note: This update is for myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack and myTouch Fender LE customers. Customers using the original myTouch 3G were sent the Android 2.2 Froyo update in staggered waves between October 13, 2010 and December 15, 2010.

The update will be sent to customers using the myTouch 3G 3.5mm Jack and myTouch Fender LE in staggered waves beginning January 12 and we anticipate all customers will receive it by February 1, 2011.
The timeline for receiving the OTA cannot be expedited. The delivery is being managed by Google and T-Mobile representatives are unable to manually push the software to customers who ask to receive it before February 1, 2011.
